Consumer rights protection

The Law on Consumer Protection of the Republic of Lithuania regulates that consumers have the right to purchase and use goods and services at their own discretion, i.e. to choose a seller or service provider, also to acquire safe goods or services of appropriate quality, to receive correct and comprehensive information in the state language on the goods sold, services rendered and other. Meanwhile, sellers and service providers must follow fair business practices when offering, purchasing and rendering services to consumers. Thus, consumer protection areas include the purchase and sale of goods and related services, all the services that are reimbursed when the goods are purchased or the services are provided to consumers. However, in the event of disputes between consumers and sellers / service providers, consumers are guaranteed the right to seek redress of violated rights in dispute settlement authorities or a court and to claim property and non-pecuniary damage /loss.
