Areas of practice

We practice in these areas:

  • Corporate law

    By submitting an application for membership in the European Union, Lithuania undertook to participate in the common process of implementation of the four freedoms, including freedom of establishment. Our firm’s lawyers can provide professional assistance in any corporate law issues by complying with the legal requirements of the Republic of Lithuania and the European corporate law:

    • We advise on the establishment, management, operation, reorganization, restructuring, separation and liquidation of companies of any legal form as well as shareholder rights and obligations;

The process of restructuring legal entities and bankruptcy of natural persons include both bankrupt parties and parties that were affected by bankruptcy, and therefore we are ready to:

    • In case of companies in the process of bankruptcy and restructure, ensure the protection of company’s rights and legitimate interests before the court proceedings and in court, advise, prepare procedural documents and represent;
    • In case of company’s creditors, duly implement the right of claim both to the bankrupt company and its managers, advise, prepare procedural documents and represent;
    • In case of bankruptcy proceedings of natural persons, advise, prepare procedural documents and represent bankrupt persons, creditor of bankrupt persons, successors of creditor or debtor;

  • Inheritance

    Inheritance is a transfer of property rights, duties and certain personal non-property rights of a deceased natural person to his or her heirs by law or (and) heirs by will. In order to receive an inheritance, the heir must accept it; the heirs can share or abandon the inheritance and can implement other successor rights. However, it is often the case that, in certain circumstances, heirs do not accept inheritance in time and there are disputes over wills, acceptance of inheritance, etc., so inheritance becomes a long and complex process often requiring the assistance of a qualified lawyer. Therefore, our lawyers are ready to:

    • Advise on any inheritance law issues;
    • If necessary, help representing clients in notary offices on inheritance issues;
    • Represent clients in negotiations between successors, authorities and institutions;
    • Prepare procedural documents and represent in courts at all levels for the settlement of inheritance disputes (regarding the establishment of the fact of legality of adoption of inheritance, renewing the deadline of the adoption of inheritance, disputing the wills and the succession facts and certificates, establishing the compulsory share of inheritance, obtaining a court permit to receive inheritance on behalf of a minor child / invalid person, etc.).

  • Family law

    The norms of the Civil Code establish general principles of legal regulation of family relations and regulate the grounds and procedure of marriage registration, its validity and dissolution, property and personal non-property rights of spouses, determination of the origin of children, rights and duties of children and parents and other family members, and general provisions of the procedure of adoption, guardianship and care, and civil registration. Since legislation in this area cannot be fully regulated, it is established that when exercising family rights and performing family responsibilities, individuals must abide by the law, respect the rules of living together, the moral principles and act in good faith. However, not all individuals follow these responsibilities, and they are not always able to live comfortably and peacefully. Therefore, our lawyers can:

    • Advise, represent and prepare legal and procedural documents of various kinds in the event of divorce by mutual consent, divorce on spouse’s fault or at the request of one spouse, to apply for declaring marriage invalid, for division of property of spouses, awarding mutual spousal sustenance, determining / changing the place of residence of a child, awarding / changing the amount of sustenance, determining / changing the order of communication with a child, settling disputes between unmarried persons on property/debts, children in common, disputing parenthood, etc.;
    • provide mediation services.

  • Debtor administration

    Obligation is a legal relationship, of which one party (the debtor) is required to perform an action for the benefit of another party (the creditor) or refrain from performing such action, and the creditor has the right to require the debtor to fulfill his/her obligation. Obligations arise from transactions or other legal facts that, as per applicable laws, cause a binding relationship. The law establishes a general obligation for creditor and debtor to act in good faith, reasonably and fairly, both at the time when obligation arises and in its existence and during its execution or expiration, yet such obligation is often ignored by debtor. Therefore, our lawyers offer the following services:

    • Pre-trial debt recovery and mediation (when attempting to agree with debtor on the terms of debt repayment);
    • Judicial recovery of debts where it is impossible to reach an agreement with debtor and turning to the court is the only option;
    • When debtor dies (in the case of a natural person) or is liquidated (in the case of a legal entity), and the debt is outstanding, we assist creditor in recovering the debt in the context of succession or bankruptcy administration procedures.

  • Contract law

    Contractual legal relationships include pre-contractual and post-contractual civil legal relationships as well as civil legal relationships involving the conclusion and performance of contracts.
